Fishing with my uncle on our dinghy

After cricket me and my uncle went fishing in our dinghy for the first time. We went to St Heliers. We rowed the dinghy to the sea. It was a nice cool and sunny day. We were both wearing life jackets because it is the law in New Zealand. We bought my life jacket from a fishing shop last year and bought my uncle's life jacket from Rebel Sport on Saturday.

 I was the first one to catch a fish and it was a snapper. We caught three snappers on Saturday and had that for our family dinner. 

I love to go fishing. I like being on the sea and casting the rod. When the rod wriggles I get really excited because it means there is a fish on the rod.

Fishing with my uncle

 Vrom! I am going fish with my uncle. First we went to buy some bait you can't go in side because of Covid-19. We had to tell the man what we want and use the Covid-19 tracer app.

After we bought some bait, then we went fishing. We had two fishing rods, a long one and a short one. 

First you hook the bait then you tie the bait then you cast the rod to the sea for the fish to bite the bait on the hook. 

If there is a fish on your hook the top of the rod will shake. My uncle and I caught a fish and it was a snapper. It felt good to catch a snapper. We grilled the fish we caught for our lunch. It was delicious. 

Starting school again

 Yay! My first day of school and my new class is Room 8. I made new friends and a got to see my new teacher. My teacher's name is Mrs Manuel. She is kind. I am happy to be back at school after the long break.

 Gliding Time

Today I made a glider. I used some stuff I found in our house. I used straws, bongo chips bag, string and tape. I taped some string to my glider so it doesn't fly away. I will try it out when it is windy enough.

Hi everyone today I made art using google sheets. It was really fun colouring the cells and also designing my art. I chose to do patterns which relate to me.

The heart - represents my love for my family

Red and black - represents my Maori culture

The blue - represents my love of fishing 

The yellow - represents my favourite colour

The cross - represents my faith in Jesus
