SLJ Week 4 Monday

 Making a sun dial

Today I made a sun dial following how Nanogirl made her one. I used cardboard from a box. The sun dial is a great idea. I put it outside so I can check tomorrow morning where the shadow is. Thank you for the activity Nanogirl. I enjoyed it.

  1. Hey Reece,

I’m Daniel from the SLJ Blog commenting team. I’m looking forward to seeing all your amazing blog posts and I hope you’re enjoying your summer too.

Great work on the sundial activity, you sundial looks like it's working fantastically, if I knew which way you were facing I would be able to tell the time you made the video by where your sundials shadow is pointing.

The sundial is a really interesting piece of technology that is really simple in design but clever in its use and it’s really interesting to learn about how people in the past did things and how their lives differed from ours.

    Nice work Reece,
See you later in the comments,

    Daniel

  2. Hi Reece,
Well done on building your sundial, it looks amazing!
You have shown great engineering skills by building it - did you mark any specific times on your sundial?
